SAM Space

SAM Space is an educational app which is available on all major platforms. The app is primarily used in schools by students and teachers and can be used in various ways from makerspace situations to the curriculum led courses that SAM Labs authors.

The app can be used without the specialized SAM hardware modules although for the best experience the hardware modules are recommended. Hands-on experiences with the hardware modules is an integral part of the STEAM/STEM learning experience.

I hired and managed the engineering team at SAM Labs whilst at the same time being very hands-on with the various development projects. The latest version of this app was developed by several designers and software developers.

Technologies

The main SAM Space app itself was developed with the Unity game engine with custom native plugins to access the native Bluetooth functionality of the device. The macOS native plugin also provides the ability to pair SAM hardware modules in-editor which is useful during development.
